Q – Questions: Curiosity Drives Research

“A to Z Genealogy Tips – Fortnightly Series”

Asking the right questions fuels effective research.

Always ask why ancestors moved, how they earned a living, or what influenced family choices. Consider if family stories that have been passed down are true.  Ask yourself, how can you check aspects of the story to verify it’s accuracy.

Questioning assumptions ensures thorough research and prevents errors from being accepted as fact. Keep a list of unanswered questions to guide future investigation.
